nestling in

Joel and I decided to spend our Friday night painting accent walls in our apartment.  We drove to Lowe’s, both pointed at the same color swatch (Filoli Majestic Oak), gathered the supplies, came home and got to work. We had been wanting to add a little bold touch to our place, and giving a nice caramel coat to our living room/dining room corner walls was the perfect way to do it.

and the After!

I love that our new walls make me think of warm cider!

I felt inspired to add a few fun touches for fall.  A wreath from Goodwill got a seasonal makeover with some craft store berries, ribbon, and Indian corn from the orchard:

Felt in pretty fall colors, along with some raffia and mini clothespins made for a cheery leaf garland over the fireplace:

Splashes of beautiful burnt orange are just right for autumn…

A cozy reading corner with selected frightful titles nearby on the shelf:

And lastly, a bowl of Red Delicious apples fresh from the tree!
